Olive oil - the benefits of olive oil for health, due to the abundance of antioxidants and unsaturated fatty acids, have been known for a long time, and new research shows that the aroma of olive oil itself has positive effects on health.

It is widely known to all olive oil very healthy, and legends about its benefits go back far into history.

Unsaturated fatty acids, vitamin E, sterols and polyphenols are just some of the ingredients that make this food valuable, useful and healthy.

"It is believed that olive oil protects against high cholesterol, high blood pressure and heart diseases and it is encouraging that it could have a similar role against stroke", world medical experts point out, and this role of olive oil is widely known among the people.

However, in a world where allergies are one of the major problems of many people around the world, regardless of age, one fact is very poorly known. Namely, olive oil is a food to which almost no one in the world is allergic!

With all the healing properties it possesses, the fact that it can't even be a silent threat really means a lot.

In an extensive search of the literature, a serious reaction to olive oil is very rare. Three cases were recorded in which people had an allergic reaction to olives. One report describes an allergy to olives as a reaction to pollen, and another reports a case of an allergic mill worker with a diseased respiratory system.

Allergic skin reactions such as contact dermatitis or rash to olive oil have been reported very rarely and are characterized as uncommon.

Unlike olive oil, allergic reactions occur somewhat more often seasonally to olive tree pollen.

What is the possible cause of olive oil allergy?

A small number of people in the world who are allergic to olive oil are actually reacting to the proteins found in it. The symptom that occurs due to that allergy is hypersensitivity of the body/skin to proteins.

When the skin comes into contact with olive oil, the immune system tries to fight back. Antibodies and histamine are produced, which lead to allergy symptoms that are common even with the most common food allergies.
