10 years of successful operation of the METRO shop
Belgrade, December 2, 2015 - METRO Cash Company & Carry in Kragujevac achieved positive results in the 2015 business year, with a total with a turnover growth of 6,4 percent, and the highest growth was recorded in the catering segments +14%. With these good results, whiteZEThis is the first decade of business in Kragujevac and a new chapter in business has been opened, which will be focused on closer cooperation with local producers and cooperatives.
The Fruits and Vegetables department took part in this growth to a large extent, which was significantly contributed to by cooperation with local suppliers during the season. Thanks to the positive results, the company METRO Cash & Carry intends to continue cooperation with farmers and cooperatives that offer fresh and high-quality fruits and vegetables from Šumadija in 2016.
Customers have recognized the quality of meat and fish in the METRO store, as well as the rich assortment, so these items are the best sellers from the assortment of fresh foods. The growth in the sale of METRO brand items is particularly significant, where the assortment of staple foods stands out, as well as the METRO brand ARO, which proved to be an excellent choice when it comes to the price-quality ratio. An interesting fact is that the producers of METRO brands are primarily companies from Serbia.
The METRO distribution center in Kragujevac was opened in 2005, and this year it celebrated 10 years of successful business, and an even higher percentage of growth is planned for the 2016 business year.
