On the occasion of the United Nations World Water Day, which is traditionally celebrated on March 22, METRO Cash & Carry Serbia, in cooperation with the Henkel company, will carry out a series of activities aimed at raising awareness of the current global problem - the shortage of clean water, and encouraging customers and employees to contribute to preservation of one of the most important natural resources.
Approximately 1,2 billion people do not have access to sufficient water due to droughts and shortages, in addition, 1,6 billion do not have access to water due to infrastructure problems in various regions around the world.
This is why companies are focusing on reducing water consumption and managing wastewater along the entire value chain. The METRO company, in cooperation with its suppliers, such as the Henkel company, will direct the attention of consumers to products that, through their use, contribute to saving water.
In a joint initiative, the companies will offer customers items that have a reduced impact on water consumption, with additional advice on how each of us can contribute to the preservation of this resource every day. The initiative will include both company employees and customers, all with the aim of further improving sustainable business and raising awareness of ways to contribute.
Today you can do something for the future of the planet and posterity. By reducing the shower time by 1 minute, you can save up to 2500l of water per year, turn off the water while shampooing your hair or brushing your teeth, avoid excessive use of detergent when washing - follow the instructions on the package.
