My Slavic cake - I learned how to prepare Slavic cake from my grandmother...

  • 500 g of water (lukewarm)
  • 0,5 cubes of yeast
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 700 g of flour
  • 2 spoons of holy water

For the cake decorations:

  • 200 g of flour
  • 2 spoons of density
  • 100 ml of water
  1. Knead the dough (it must not be too hard) from the given ingredients and leave for 15 minutes. let the dough rest. While the dough rests, make decorations as desired (for decorations, the dough should be very hard).

  2. Then knead the dough again and put the dough in the pan where it will be baked. (coat the pan with margarine).
    Spread the whole cake with water (or water) and glue the decorations.
    As we add the decorations, the dough will grow and where there are cavities, we will put the decoration.
  3. When we have finished decorating the Slavic cake, let it rest for another 10 minutes.
  4. Then, before baking, coat the cake with egg yolk and prick it with a needle, bake the cake at 180 C for about 45 minutes.
