Special recognition for the best recipe of the year, based on the evaluations of the jury, led by Sonja Martić: Little Red Riding Hood salad, authored by Snežana Kitanović.

After the announcement of the best recipes of the year, an action was presented Traditional recipes of Serbian cuisine, which will last throughout 2017 and will end with the publication of the book Traditional recipes of domestic Serbian cuisine/Traditional Serbian Cookbook.

The basic concept of the book and the theme of this project is to preserve and promote traditional food preparation with all its cultural, health and historical aspects. The book will be printed in Serbian and English. All interested organizations, institutions and experts from various fields will be involved in the preparation of this book, such as the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, the Tourist Organization of Serbia, medical doctors, nutritionists, etc.

"Traditions of customs and beliefs are passed down from generation to generation, and in the old days it was done from mouth to mouth ("from knee to knee") and they are an important part of the cultural identification of a region or a country. After the official presentation, more than 30 guests, representatives of economic organizations, institutions and the media, had the opportunity to taste some of the best dishes and sweets of traditional Serbian cuisine, prepared according to traditional recipes from old cooks. On the menu were: reform cake, rum cake, vanilla cakes, gingerbread, old-fashioned (dry) cakes, vegetable cake, etc., prepared by Kristina Gašpar.

Most of the attention and sighs of those present was zeljanik, which was prepared according to an old recipe, published in the book Serbian folk dishes and drinks, book 1, edited by Dr. Jovan Erdeljanović, and which was printed in the state printing house of the Kingdom of Serbia in 1908.

According to the votes of the Portal visitors, the other best recipes of the year were also announced: 1st place - Zorica Stajić with a recipe for zucchini in the shape of a flower, 2nd place - Slađana Šćekić with a recipe for juicy turkey schnitzel, 3rd place - Jelena Nikolić with a recipe for baked green beans with with chicken and the best sweet - Javorka Filiipović with a recipe for slips.

The friends of the event provided appropriate gifts for the authors of the best recipes.

Friends of the event were: Hotel Zira Belgrade, Vulkan publishing house, In-connect doo and Wai Wai instant noodle, PC Press. Media friends are: Serbian Scientific Television, Turistički svet, Miljina kuhinja and BKTVnews.com.
