The author of the book, Miodrag Ilić, spoke about the importance of such projects for the preservation of tradition and intangible cultural heritage. From the very beginning of the preparation of the book, the focus was on the research work and analysis of the books of the ethnographer Sima Trojanović and others. Jovan Erdeljanović, which were issued at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. The first third of the book is the introductory part, which talks about the history of food culture in Serbia, which was written precisely on the basis of the books of the mentioned ethnologists.
