An interesting fact is that the basis of Japanese cuisine has been the combination of 'go-ju-san-sai' since ancient times. 'Ici-ju-san-sai' is a soup and three dishes - one main and two side dishes. In addition to the combination 'go-ju-san-sai', there are also 'go-ju-issai' and 'go-ju-ni-sai', in which soup is also mandatory. When there are not enough ingredients for the main and side dishes, soup is prepared with a larger number of ingredients and thus a balanced meal is obtained. And vice versa - when the main and side dishes are rich, a simple soup is made. Along with obligatory rice and pickles, soup, main and side dishes complete the nutritional needs of one meal.

The organizers of the event are the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Serbia, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan, METRO Horeca Center and Hotel Crown Plaza Belgrade.
