An exhibition will be officially opened in the Hall of the National Museum of Zrenjanin on Monday, August 28, 2017, at 19 p.m. Society of Serbian Artists "Lada" whose author is Jasmina Tutorov, museum adviser. The exhibition in the Zrenjanin museum includes 63 works by 46 authors who created and were members of the Association during its long history.
The Association of Serbian Artists "Lada", founded in 1904, is the oldest association of fine artists in Serbia, the former Yugoslavia, and according to some estimates, in Europe. Over 150 members, regular and honorary, joined the Society during its many years of existence. Those creators received numerous awards, eighteen of them are members of SANU, most of them were professors at art academies, they participated in organizing art life and social events. We will name a few: Uroš Predić, Marko Murat, Beta Vukanović, Stevan Aleksić, Pavle Paja Jovanović, Vasa Pomorišac, Zora Petrović, Petar Lubarda, Miodrag Mića Popović, Matija Vuković, Nikola Janković, Slobodan Trajković, Svetomir Arsić Basara, Jarmila Vešović, Zoran Grebenarović , Radomir Damjanović Damjan, Nedeljko Neša Papirović, Aleksandar Đurić...
The exhibition of a number of current members of "Lada" was organized in the Castle of Culture in Vrnjačka Banja, in the summer months of this year. The exhibition has now been moved to the Zrenjanin museum and significantly expanded with works from the collections of the National Museum and the Contemporary Gallery in Zrenjanin. In the collections of these institutions from Zrenjan, we have a large number of works by the members of "Lada", from its founders until today. There are 60 paintings and sculptures by these artists in the collection of the Contemporary Gallery. This significantly changed the concept of the exhibition and achieved a more studious approach.
The exhibition will be available to the public in the Salon of the National Museum of Zrenjanin until September 27.
