Tomato stew with rags - homemade tomato juice was always made in our house, and one of my favorite stews is just that. And we always made it with rags, and I still have that habit to this day. Somehow, tomato soup and rags are an inseparable combination for me.

Tomato stew with rags - homemade tomato juice was always made in our house, and one of my favorite stews is just that. And we always made it with rags, and I still have that habit to this day. Somehow, tomato soup and rags are an inseparable combination for me.

  • 500 ml tomato juice (concentrate)
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • parsley
  • Origan
  • basil
  • beaver
  1. Pour the tomato juice into the pan. Depending on the strength of the concentrate, add water. If it is too strong the best ratio is half/half.
  2. If the concentrate is sour, add half a teaspoon of sugar and spices of your choice, usually oregano, pepper and basil if the concentrate itself is not already seasoned. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Break and beat one egg in a bowl. Add flour and mix until you get a mass a little thicker than for pancakes.

  4. When the broth boils, gradually and evenly pour the mass through a fork to get strips - rags. You can do the same by using a small fork to pour the mass into the boiling broth. How is it easier for you? Personally, it is easier and faster for me to pour with a small fork.

  5. Let the broth boil for another 5 minutes and then it's done.
  6. Sprinkle with finely chopped parsley and serve warm. If you think it is too thick, you can add a little more water and let it boil.
