Strawberry jam – Kristina Gašpar

Strawberry jam – berry-cheeks, does anyone not like them?! Delicious and aromatic fruit that is rich in various vitamins and minerals.

Vitamin C, iron and folic acid are added. Due to the presence of folic acid, the consumption of strawberries is especially recommended for pregnant women and women who plan to remain pregnant.

I am always "troubled" by the amount of sugar when I prepare winter soup.

It is recommended that the ratio of sugar and strawberries be 1:1.
But I disagree with the recommendation. Sugar acts as a preservative, but it spoils the taste (in my opinion).

I decided on a ratio of 1:3 (sugar:strawberries), approximately - plus/minus. I keep strawberry jams, jams, marmalades and toppings in the fridge during the summer months, just in case, because I don't add preservatives.

Strawberries are a very sensitive fruit, so special attention should be paid to them when it comes to storing them for the winter. This amount is enough for 1 jar of 580 ml (a little will be left for tasting).

The packaging design is specially made for photography and other purposes. It is an old-fashioned design. The cover should have been brown in color, but I didn't have it at the time.

"Scratches" are part of the design.

  • 750 g of peeled strawberries
  • 300 g of sugar
  • 1 case vanillin sugar
  1. Combine strawberries and sugar.
  2. Then mash the mixture (a little) with your hands.
  3. Cook the jam at a lower temperature until it is medium thick (it will be thicker when it cools).
  4. At the end, add vanilla sugar.
  5. The length of cooking depends on the size of the pan, so it can last from 30-60 minutes.
  6. If you choose a pan with a larger diameter, your jam will be ready faster.
