perishes they have a special taste. Shape and appearance add flavor to food. And pretzels really have a special shape. You can make it from any yeast dough. You can make the dough with milk, yogurt, cream, eggs...
This is the simplest recipe for pretzels.
Pretzels, ingredients:
- 500 g flour
- 3 dl of lukewarm water/milk
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 spoon of sugar
- 1/2 yeast
- 1/2 dl oil (or 1 tbsp fat/butter)
To coat:
- 1 egg
For topping:
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- water as needed
Pretzels, preparation:
- Activate the yeast - mix yeast, a little flour and sugar with water.
- When the yeast is active, add all the other ingredients.
- Knead a smooth dough and let it double in size in a warm place.
- Form balls of the desired size (about 30 balls depending on the desired size of pretzels).
- Thin each ball with your hands into a long roll.
- Form the rolls on the work surface, but do not sprinkle it with flour.
- It will be easier to shape pretzels if you do not sprinkle the surface and dough with flour.
- Arrange them in a tray lined with baking paper.
- Coat the pretzels with beaten egg and bake them in a heated oven at 200 degrees for about 15 minutes.
- Then sprinkle them with a white mixture - mix flour and salt, add water gradually until you get a mixture thicker than for pancakes.
- Return the pretzels to the oven to finish baking (about 5 minutes).
- Most often, I make smaller and thicker pretzels because more of them fit in the baking tray.
Advice:
If you do not have enough yeast or you are not sure if it is good/fresh, pour a little baking powder into the flour (1/4 or 1/3 teaspoon of baking powder).
