Petrovski cake, ingredients:

  • 2 dl of sour water,
  • 1 dl of oil,
  • 300 grams of flour,
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda,
  • 100 grams of brown sugar,
  • 3 tablespoons of apricot jam.

File:

  • 1 kg of Petrovac apples,
  • 100 grams of brown sugar,
  • 100 grams of ground walnuts.

Petrovski cake, preparation:

  • Cut a kilogram of Petrovac apples lengthwise down the middle, remove the seeds, line a baking sheet with parchment paper, sprinkle 3 tablespoons of brown sugar, arrange the apples in a row, with the cut side lying on the bottom of the baking sheet.
  • Sprinkle 100 grams of ground walnuts over the apples.
  • Place the tray prepared in this way in an oven heated to 200 degrees, on the highest rack in the oven, to bake the apples.
  • Pour the prepared dough over the baked apples.
  • Return to the oven to bake. Reduce the temperature to 180 degrees.
  • Bake for another twenty minutes.
  • Take out the baked cake on a plate, so that the bottom side of the baked cake is on top.

If you wish, you can cover and decorate the cake, but it is not necessary, it is very tasty. This traditional cake is made in a fasting version, when, as this year, the St. Peter's Day holiday falls on a fasting day, Wednesday or Friday.
