Tanja Petrović would have celebrated her 50th birthday today. On this day 50 years ago, Peca Popović brought his first article to the editorial office of "Gonga". He was 17 years old. At the age of 17, Tanja Petrović brought her first article to Peca Popović in the Roka editorial office. In the sadly quickly wasted 46 years of her life, Tanja Petrović went through and lived with: Studio B, Treći Kanal, Bemus, Bitef, Festa, Composer's Tribune, her greatest love - Radio B92, Samizdat B92 and the online edition "Ppolitics". In memory of Tanja Petrović and her work, the Foundation was established with the intention of highlighting and supporting personalities who contributed exceptionally to the affirmation of culture and art in the media. On Tanja's birthday, four years after she left forever, the two of them, Peca and Tanja, met through the award that bears her name, and he himself received it...
The award of the "Tanja Petrović" Foundation is awarded every year, on February 28, on Tanja's birthday. Previous winners are journalist, film and literary critic Milan Vlajčić, cult radio author Žikica Simić and editor and author of the show "Trezor" on RTS Bojana Andrić. This year's winner of the award is Petar Peca Popović, journalist, rock critic, publicist and unprecedented erudite of almost half a century long rock stories.
In the speech after the presentation of the award, which was presented to him by last year's winner Bojana Andrić today at noon in the City Assembly, Peca paid tribute by name to absolutely all the people who were directly involved in his life: journalists, editors, critics, rock chroniclers, writers, music promoters and musicians. print and electronic media - but also to the people in white coats who have been saving his bare life for 15 years, obliging him to use every new day for a new step towards the world of knowledge about the civilization to which we belong.
Peca Popović wants to spend the monetary part of the award on the creation of a memorial plaque to Nikola Karaklajić, the man who opened the doors of radio and showed the way to life to an unprecedented number of young people in the decades when he edited and produced the anthology shows "Muzički automat", "Sastanak" at Radio Belgrade at 9 and 5" and, above all, "Evening with the radio". "I am afraid that we have not yet repaid this wonderful man or given him the recognition he deserves," said Peca. "If we don't do it today, tomorrow there will be no one to do it for us."
