Grilled chicken in Portuguese style, tasty and spicy. The right choice for lunch on warm summer days.

  • 2 kg of chicken meat
  • 2 pieces of hot red pepper
  • 1 piece of hot green pepper
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 60 ml of olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon of sea salt

For attachment:

  • lemon slices
  • spicy chips
  1. Buy a chicken without entrails, about 2 kg. Wash well and leave to drain. Cut into small pieces, and leave to drain. With a sharp knife, cut the skin in several places, about 5 mm deep.
  2. Preparation of the marinade: in a blender or small food processor, add lemon juice, chopped hot peppers, chopped garlic, olive oil and salt. Process several times, until the mass is nicely even.
  3. Rub the marinade onto the chicken using a brush.
  4. The grill must be well heated.
  5. Bake the chicken skin side down first. Bake each side for about 10 minutes, with constant turning and coating with marinade. When the chicken is ready, transfer it to a large plate and wrap it in cling film to rest for 5 minutes.
  6. Serve the Portuguese-style grilled chicken on a large plate, with lemon wedges and spicy chips.
