The journalist of the website Thrillist decided to drink for a month 4 liters of water per day. Although he expected certain changes, he was definitely not ready for many things.

Day 1: The fun begins

Since I don't know how much a gallon (4 liter) glass of water actually is, I decided to buy a one gallon plastic bottle and carry it around with me. From the very beginning, it seems to me that this will be more difficult than I imagined. I try to focus on drinking water to reach my daily quota for the day. It is very strange to dedicate your soul and body to the cause of drinking water for the sake of drinking it.

Day 5: I pee every 20 minutes

I really like to drink water. My body, and probably every other person's body, is made up of 60 percent water, but no one drinks 4 liters of water a day. You really have to work hard to put it into practice. I drink even when I'm definitely not thirsty. But nothing is different. The only change is the feeling of constant fullness, which makes me eat less. Plus, I go to the bathroom every 20 minutes. Everyone thinks I have a drug problem because I'm constantly going in and out of the bathroom. When going out, I drink water with every other drink and constantly run to the toilet.

Day 10: I became…prettier?

Something happens, especially in the morning. I usually need a cup of coffee as soon as I open my eyes to get going, but now I wake up completely refreshed and with more energy. It's a nice change. I even feel better. Maybe it's a placebo effect. My hair has a whole new shine to it, but I generally consider myself a pretty person so I'm not sure what's going on. I still find it difficult to carry so much water with me. Practically at all times, even when I'm sleeping, I have a plastic bottle next to me in order to fulfill my quota. Although people look at me strangely, I think my forearms have gotten stronger. I think.

Day 15: I'm full of energy

I definitely have more energy. I almost don't drink coffee anymore. This is a big change as I used to drink up to three cups. When I go for a run in the evening, I feel that I am faster. My sleep is better. I'm even less hot when I sleep. Not only that, I feel incredibly thirsty every time I don't drink water. It seems my body has adjusted to my new lifestyle. I have the impression that I may never be the same again.

Day 20: People tell me I look and am happier

I do not know why. Maybe I really am.

Day 25: I am becoming a better person

I still go to the toilet often and my urine is crystal clear every time. My girlfriend noticed that my skin looks clearer and I feel like I have more energy. It sounds strange, but I have the impression that I feel really better. I don't even have a problem drinking water anymore. I adapted to the amount and it is now my norm. Even people respect me more even though I still lug the damn bottle around with me. Just kidding, they don't respect me.

Day 30: Free and clean

Last day of my challenge. I'm still constantly running to pee and I'm constantly thirsty. I feel like my grandfather. But unlike him, I feel good. Maybe drinking a gallon of water is a bit much, but I definitely noticed that I wasn't drinking enough water before.

I probably wouldn't recommend this challenge to anyone, but I think it's okay to set a certain amount of water to drink throughout the day.

One thing is for sure, we need to drink more water. We'll feel better and be able to pee four times within eight minutes - which is a cool trick.
