Preparing a recipe for mashed potatoes does not require too much knowledge of cooking skills. Many other main dishes would be unthinkable without mashed potatoes for many gourmets.
- 1 kg of potatoes
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- milk (little)
- salt (to taste)
- Buy 1 kg of potatoes (white or yellow potatoes are usually taken, but it is possible to use any type, and the most important thing is that it is of good quality and has a good taste). Wash and peel the potatoes. Leave to drain. Cut into smaller slices.
- Place the cut potatoes in the cooking pot. Pour water over the potatoes, just until they are soaked. Cook at medium temperature, so that the water boils slightly.
- When the potatoes are cooked, immediately mash them well. While the mashed potatoes are still hot, add a large spoonful of butter. Continue pureeing. Add a little heated milk to achieve the desired consistency of mashed potatoes. Salt to taste. Optionally, add some pepper. Puree and mix to combine all ingredients.
- Mashed potatoes should be served warm, as an addition to the main course (various roasts, schnitzels, etc.), decorated with fresh parsley leaves, pepper of various colors, sprinkled with Parmesan cheese, or topped with roasting sauce.
