Vine leaf pie, traditional recipe.

Vine leaf pie, traditional recipe, ingredients:

  • Universal pie dough of 1 kg of flour,
  • 2 dl of oil,
  • 1/2 l of water (the dough is kneaded with lukewarm water in winter and cold water in summer) i
  • so.

For the filling you need:

  • 30 young vine leaves,
  • 3-4 green onions,
  • 3 haha,
  • 1 hour of 2 dl sour milk,
  • 1 cup corn flour,
  • 1 bag of dry yeast,
  • 300 g of cheese and
  • 1 dl of oil.

Vine leaf pie, traditional recipe, preparation:

  • Wash the vine leaves, cover them with hot water and let them stand for one minute, then cover them with cold water. Drain the water and chop them into small pieces.
  • Clean the spring onion and chop it too.
  • Place the eggs and sour milk in a deep bowl and stir to combine. Add flour mixed with dry yeast, chopped onion, chopped vines and grated cheese. Combine everything well.

  • Add salt to the flour, add oil and slowly pour water, stirring constantly to obtain a soft dough.
  • It has to be well made.
  • Divide into 4 parts and make each part well on a board sprinkled with flour. Use your hand to separate the pieces of dough into a thick bun, coat each piece with oil or fat, then cover them with a cloth and leave them in a warm room to rest for 30 minutes.
  • Stretch the remaining buns with your hand and fingers, stretch them at the ends to make a larger circle, and then stretch them out on a tablecloth.
  • Separate the ends slightly and make the 5th bun.
  • Spray the dough with hot oil or melted fat.
  • Apply the filling over the entire surface and fold it into crusts (the filling in this case is made of vine leaves with accessories).
  • Mix water and oil in a small bowl, then spray the finished dough before baking.
  • Bake in a very hot oven at 200 degrees.
  • Sprinkle the baked pie with lukewarm water and cover with a cloth to stand.
