Pie with poppy seeds topped with sugar syrup (agda) for poppy lovers. Dry pie, wet pie or baklava, whatever you like.

You can season it to taste - with raisins, vanilla sugar, lemon... If you like the combination of poppy seeds and cinnamon, you can also add cinnamon. There are a lot of possibilities.

If I have to choose between strudel and poppy seed pie, I always choose the pie. The quantity of poppy seeds is not fixed, sometimes I use less poppy seeds. Regardless of the amount of poppy seeds, poppy seed pie is always delicious.

After pouring, it would be preferable to cool the pie well in order to combine all the ingredients.
But it's also delicious when it's lukewarm.

Pie with poppy seeds, ingredients:

  • 500 g of thin crusts
  • 5 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 bag of vanilla sugar
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 300 g of ground poppy seeds
  • 200 g of raisins

Syrup:

  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 2,5 cups of water
  • vanilla, lemon

*cup of 2 dl

Pie with poppy seeds, preparation:

  • Beat the eggs, sugar, yogurt, oil and vanilla sugar.
  • Coat a 25*35 baking sheet with oil and cover with crust, pour 3-4 tablespoons of egg filling, sprinkle with 2-3 tablespoons of poppy seeds.
  • You repeat the procedure until you use up all the skins.
  • Place raisins on every 2 or 3 crusts.
  • Brush the last crust with the egg filling.
  • Cut the pie like baklava - into pieces of the desired size.
  • Bake it for 25 minutes in a heated oven at 200 degrees.
  • Pour cooled syrup over the cooled pie.
  • For the syrup, boil water and sugar - cook for 8-10 minutes at a lower temperature than the moment of boiling.
  • Finally, add, if desired, vanilla sugar and/or lemon cut into slices.

Pie with poppy seeds can also be made in the form of strudels - by joining several crusts. Everything else is the same.

If you don't like topped cakes, you can eliminate the syrup. In that case, when you beat the eggs, increase the amount of sugar to 1,5 cups, and the oil to 2/3 cups, approximately.

Pie with poppy seeds can also be lean. Simply, those who fast or do not eat foods of animal origin should omit the egg filling. Spray the crusts with oil instead of the filling.

Last time I made all three variants, for everyone's taste.
