Knitted cake - a nice spring cake.

  • 700 grams of flour
  • cube of yeast
  • a teaspoon of sugar
  • a teaspoon of salt
  • 1 dcl. oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1,5 dcl. water
  • 2 dcl. milk

For coating:

  • 1 egg yolk
  • a little sesame
  1. Crush the water and add a teaspoon of sugar and crushed yeast. Let it stand for a few minutes.
  2. Pour the sifted flour mixed with salt into a deep bowl, add the egg, oil and finally the yeast. Knead the dough by hand, cover with a kitchen towel and leave for an hour at room temperature to double in size. Knead the resulting dough and transfer it to the mixing board. Divide the dough into three parts. Make long rolls from each part of the dough. Arrange the rollers (sticks) next to each other and weave a braid. Twist the braid into a circle and transfer it to an oiled pan.
  3. Brush with beaten egg and let stand for ten minutes. During this time, turn on the oven to heat up to 250 degrees. Before you put the scone to bake, brush it with another beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake in a preheated oven on the lower part of the stove for about half an hour or until golden brown. Take the baked scone out of the oven and cover it with a cloth to soften it a little.
