Pletenica made of dough - a very tasty appetizer, it can also serve as a main dish.

  • Ingredients for the dough:
  • 600 gr. flour
  • 1 piece of yeast (packet)
  • 3 dl of milk
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1 spoon of salt
  • 1 piece of egg
  • 150 gr. margarine
  • Ingredients for the filling:
  • 400 gr. minced meat
  • 1 piece of onion
  • 2 spoons of tomato puree
  • 1 piece of egg
  • 5 tablespoons of olive oil
  • salt (to taste)
  • spices (to taste)
  1. Put yeast, salt, sugar and a little flour in 3 dl of lukewarm milk. Wait for it to come. In another bowl, put the egg, the rest of the flour, margarine and slowly pour the milk with yeast. Knead the dough well, work it until it stops sticking to your fingers. Let it come.
  2. Chop the onion, fry a little and add the minced meat. Stew it with occasional addition of water. At the end, add tomato puree, salt and spices to taste.
  3. Knead the resulting dough and roll it out with a rolling pin into a 0.5 cm thick rectangle. Cut the sides of the dough inward into strips 1.5 cm wide so that there is enough space in the middle for the filling. Fold the outer strips on both sides of the rectangle inwards so that the filling does not leak out. Place the meat filling in the middle, then weave the cut strips. Brush the finished braid with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C until golden brown, about 15 minutes.
