Podvarak my way - we all love podvarak because it is wonderful both with and without meat...

  • 1 kg. sauerkraut (finely grated)
  • 2 tablespoons of dry spices
  • 1 teaspoon of pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of ground red pepper
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 4 pieces of chicken wings (or sternum)
  1. Fry the meat in a little fat on one side and on the other side.... then remove the meat from the fat and fry finely chopped sauerkraut.
    While the cabbage is frying, add spices, pepper, bay leaf and red ground pepper.
    Continue stewing for another 15 minutes.
    Place the stewed cabbage in a casserole dish, arrange the meat on top of the cabbage, and bake at 200°C for about 1 hour.
