Scones with cheese.
Scones with cheese, preparation:
- 400 g of small cheese
- 1 piece of yeast
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 2 teaspoons of salt
- 100 g margarine
- 100 ml of water
- 500 g flour
- 150 g margarine
- 1 egg
Scones with cheese, preparation:
- Pour warm water over the yeast and sugar and let it rise. (Put 150 g of margarine in the fridge)
- Use small cheese, if you don't have small cheese, you can also use sliced cheese, but then mash the cheese slice with a fork.
- In the container where the yeast is, add cheese, softened margarine (100 g), salt and gradually add flour. Maybe it will take a little more than 500 g, and maybe it will be enough, so it should be added gradually, it depends on how dry the cheese is. Fine cheese is generally "drier" than sliced cheese.
- Knead the dough so that it is not too hard, but also that it does not stick too much to your hands. Leave it to rise for about 30 minutes.
- When the dough has risen, roll it into a circle as large as possible, then take margarine (150 g) from the refrigerator and grate it on a coarse grater over the dough. Wrap the dough in a roll and fold the ends towards the inside.
- Then roll it out again with a rolling pin about 1 cm thick. Use a glass or a mold to take out the circles and arrange them in the pan.
- Beat one egg and coat the scones and leave them to rest for about 15 minutes while the oven is heating. Put the scones in a heated oven for about 30 minutes at 200 degrees.
