Fried peppers stuffed with cheese - this is something my husband loves and enjoys preparing, and even more eating 🙂 The dish is most often made during the season of ajvar preparation, but if you want to bake them for a smaller amount, you won't regret it.
Fried peppers stuffed with cheese - Ana Vuletić
- 6 pieces of red peppers - horn (Macedonian...)
- 2 eggs
- 10 tablespoon flour
- 10 tablespoon of breadcrumbs
- 100 g of Srem or similar cheese
- landing
- Roast the peppers on the grill or in the oven, depending on the possibility of browning on both sides.
- Carefully peel the peppers, taking care not to tear them. Then split them in half and clean them of petioles and seeds. You can wash them in lukewarm water.
- In a small bowl, beat one egg and cheese with a fork to combine. If the cheese is unsalted, add salt if desired.
- Place flour, one beaten egg and breadcrumbs in three different bowls.
- Add oil to a deep frying pan and let it heat up.
- Fill the peppers and fold them so that the contents cannot fall out, like a letter.
- Dip the peppers first in flour, then in egg and then in breadcrumbs.
- If you are afraid that they will not fall apart, you can "bath" the peppers in the contents.
- After breading the peppers, put them in the hot oil and turn them on both sides. It only takes 30sec-1min to get a golden color and take them out.
- These peppers can be an appetizer as well as a main dish. Pleasant.
