Polenta, an old recipe from Vojvodina, from the beginning of the 20th century.

Polenta, ingredients:

  • butter, the size of an egg, about 80 gr
  • one glass of sour cream
  • one cup of flour
  • 6 eggs
  • a bit of salt

Polenta, preparation:

  • butter, sour cream, flour, 6 egg yolks and a little salt, beat until foamy
  • fold the egg white firmly into the snow
  • add the egg white to the mixture, stirring gently
  • coat the middle of a clean kitchen towel with butter, pour the dough, tie the dough and cook covered in hot water for about half an hour
  • serve on a bowl or a large plate, cover with melted butter and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese
