Kristina Gašpar - blog Domaćica za vas - Recipes and Kuvar online

It is a rare opportunity to publish an article from Politika Magazine, which published an interview with our colleague Kristina Gašpar. One of our most active collaborators, she stands out for her numerous creative and innovative recipes, and especially for her recipe photos. In many published photos, even a more experienced professional would be envious, and everyone expresses real disbelief when Kristina informs them that she takes these photos with a single, rather outdated model - a mobile phone?!

Here is the full test, taken from Politika Magazin:

Beautifully decorated dishes by Kristina Gašpar attract attention with their appearance, simple and easy way of preparation, but also with tips on how those who want to can prepare it themselves

It is a popular opinion that young, educated and beautiful girls are not good in the kitchen. Thanks to the Internet, it turned out that more and more young intellectuals know how to use a welding machine well, and they are also ready to share recipes and their experiences with others via social networks or blogs, as is the case with Kristina Gapšar, an economist from Belgrade.

- I like to cook, it gives me rest and relaxation - says Kristina, the author of the blog "Domaćica za vas" and explains why she decided to start "uploading" recipes and photos of the dishes she prepares on the Internet in March 2014.

- More and more often they asked me for recipes and advice on how to do what, so I thought that the blog was the right solution to share useful information with everyone "at one cost". With the help of the instructions I found - of course on the Internet, I realized that it is not difficult or complicated. So I started preparing meals, photographing them and posting them on the blog. It also requires a lot of time. I informed myself, but not so much that I can record the preparation process myself - says the blogger.

- You won't believe it, but I'm still learning how to write a recipe, because if it's short, I get a lot of questions about how to do what, and if it's too long, then many people hate to read it - added Kristina.

On several occasions, she won contests for the best recipe (the biggest prize she won was worth about 35.000 dinars) and a photo of a dish on culinary websites, but she did not use a camera. Just your cell phone.

However, it is not only the photos that captivate, but also the way the food is decorated.

- For me, cooking is an art, and that implies that the dish, in addition to being of high quality and tasty, is also beautifully decorated. Considering that I love flowers and that they inspire me, I also make flowers from vegetables - our interlocutor admits and adds that she made a "flower" arrangement from vegetables for her friend's wedding lunch.

Kristina Gašpar is a native of Bela Crkva, so it would be expected that she likes Banat specialties, starting with čvarak and paprikash.

- I have been a vegetarian since I was 17, which means that I have left out meat from my diet, but I eat milk, dairy products and eggs, and that includes cakes - adds Kristina, on whose blog she writes: "I make most of the cakes by heart." Of course, one must know the basic rules. I combine various ingredients. I start making one thing, then I make something else.."

What Kristina adheres to are precise measurements, because, as she says, neither cups are more cups, nor do we all have the same spoons, because "some hold 12 grams, and some hold more than 40".

- Many people are surprised when they hear that I put water or milk in the glazes. They say their chocolate thickens when they add liquid. That "chocolate" that thickens when liquid is added is actually low-quality cocoa bar. Real chocolate is quite rare when melted, and when liquid is added, it becomes even rarer. That's why it's worth spending a few dinars more - this is one of the tips of our blogger, who for a while turned to Indian and Turkish cuisine because of the abundance of spices and vegetables.

- I love Eastern food and culture. It is not always easy for me to get all the spices I would like to have in my collection, but I manage and I am happy to share my experience with others. I remember that we didn't have raw chickpeas, nine years ago I brought them from Turkey. Now they are everywhere. I have been using gomascio seasoning (so-called sesame salt, a mixture of crushed roasted sesame and sea salt) for a very long time. My aunt once recommended it to me. And I learned to make chapata thanks to my aunt. I love hummus and falafel, I introduced it to my aunt's kitchen. They originate from Lebanon and Palestine, but are also consumed in India - Kristina Gašpar chooses based on her experiences.

I made ginger water (or ginger drink) quite by accident, and the taste fascinated me. With a fresh mint leaf, it is a real refreshment for all seasons.

If you like sweet drinks, you can add a little honey. We publish that and some of Christina's recipes on the pages of our "Magazine".
