Lean sarma with pumpkin - Kristina Gašpar
Lenten sarma with pumpkin, ingredients:
- 1 onion
- 1 teaspoon of ground paprika
- 150 g of rice
- 100 g of grated pumpkin
- to taste: garlic, turmeric, pepper, crushed hot pepper, parsley, salt...
- 10 medium cabbage leaves
- 1 bay leaf
- oil as needed for frying onions
And more:
- 1 tablespoons of oil
- 1 teaspoon of ground paprika
- 1 teaspoon of flour
Lean sarma with pumpkin, preparation:
- Fry finely chopped onion in hot oil until golden brown, then add allspice and then washed rice. Pour 1 dl of water and cook briefly, until the rice absorbs the water. Add the pumpkin and all the listed spices to taste, except for the bay leaf.
- Wrap the sarma and cook it in the usual way with the addition of a bay leaf. I always cook it in a pressure cooker for 30 minutes.
- Fry ground paprika and flour in oil, then pour the juice in which the sarma was cooked, cook for a few minutes when it boils.
- Pour this mixture over the sarma and serve.
