Lean gingerbread - Kristina Gašpar

 

Lean gingerbread, ingredients:

  • 250 g of flour
  • 70 g of margarine
  • 50 g of sugar
  • 0,5 teaspoons of baking soda
  • 0,25 teaspoons of cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla sugar
  • 1 teaspoon orange peel (grated)
  • a pinch of ginger and turmeric

Syrup

  • 30 ml of sugar
  • 30 ml of water
  • 1 teaspoon honey (full teaspoon)

Lean gingerbread, preparation:

  • First, boil the syrup that serves to combine the dry ingredients.
  • Boil sugar and water, when the mixture boils, it needs to boil for 2-3 minutes. Then add honey and stir until it dissolves.
  • While the syrup is cooling, combine all the dry ingredients, rub them well to combine the margarine with the flour.
  • Make a well and pour the syrup. Then knead a smooth dough. Let it stand for about 10 minutes in the freezer.
  • Make rolls of the dough about 2 cm in diameter and cut into 1 cm thick pieces. Arrange in a tray with a minimum distance of 1 cm between the gingerbread. Bake at 170 degrees for 10 minutes.
