Prebranac.

Prebranica, ingredients:

  • 500 g of white beans
  • 500 g of onion
  • 1 stalk of leek
  • 4 dried peppers
  • 5 red roasted peppers
  • 1 spoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of dry herb seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon of ground pepper
  • 1 spoon of paprika

Prebranac, preparation:

  • Clean and wash the beans. Put in a pot and let it boil. When it boils, cook for 20 minutes.
  • Strain the beans and discard the first water and wash the beans under cold water.
  • Put the beans in a pot and let it boil for 40 minutes.
  • While the beans are simmering, prepare the onions.
  • Chop the onion and leek smaller.
  • Fry the onion in a little oil. When the onion changes color, remove it from the heat and add the paprika, stir and let it cool.
  • Soak the dried peppers in lukewarm water to soften them.
  • Cut one dry pepper into thin slices. Prepare the other three peppers for filling.
  • Put the drained beans in a bowl and mix with the onion.
  • Add salt, pepper, dry spices, then mix.
  • Fill the dried peppers and arrange them on the beans. Put the chopped dry pepper over the peppers and beans. Arrange five roasted red peppers in a circle.
  • Pour 1,500 ml of cold water.
  • Close the container tightly with aluminum foil. Place in the oven at 200 degrees and simmer for 120 minutes. Towards the end, remove the foil and increase the oven temperature to 275 degrees and leave for another 10 minutes so that the beans are nicely roasted. Pleasant!
