Prebranac Gravče na tavče - Danijela Žikić - Recipes and Cookbook online

Prebranac is a dish that is traditionally prepared for lean holiday lunches, and especially for Christmas Eve. By the way, the rule for Prebranica is that it requires a lot of onion, a lot of oil and a lot of allspice. You won't go wrong even if you put more than the specified amounts.

Serve hot or cold with a salad of your choice. Pleasant!

Prebranac Gravče na tavče, ingredients:

  • 500 g of prebranca beans
  • 500 ml of oil
  • 600 g of onion
  • to taste: salt, pepper, bay leaf, dry spices
  • 4 heads of garlic
  • 10 dry peppers
  • 4-5 tablespoons of allspice

Preparation:

  • Clean the beans, wash them in several water. Pour and leave to swell overnight. The next day, boil the beans and discard the first water. Pour water and cook the beans as needed until they are cooked.
  • Heat the boiled beans.
  • Add finely chopped onion to the heated oil. Fry a little until the onion gets a glassy color.
  • Put bay leaves, salt, add finely chopped garlic and fry until the onion turns golden brown.
  • Add allspice and continue frying for a short time.
  • Pour the warmed beans, mix and leave to soak for about 15 minutes.
  • Transfer the beans to the pan.
  • Add washed and cleaned dry peppers.
  • Roast the beans at 250 C for about 30 minutes or less as needed.
