Stuffed cake.
Stuffed cake, ingredients:
- 500 g of flour,
- 1 bag of dry yeast or 20 g of fresh yeast,
- 250 to 270 ml of lukewarm water,
- 100 g of fat,
- 1 teaspoon of salt,
- 1 teaspoon of sugar,
- half a teaspoon of pepper and
- 100 g of grated cheese according to your taste.
For the filling:
- 3-4 spoons of ajvar,
- 100 g of grated cheese and
- 100 g of thinly sliced salami into rings.
For coating and sprinkling:
- 1 egg yolk.
Stuffed cake, preparation:
- Mix flour, salt and pepper in a mixing bowl. Put yeast, a teaspoon of sugar in a cup and add 150 ml of lukewarm water, mix and let the yeast rise.
- Add the yeast to the flour, fat, grated cheese, the rest of the water and mix the dough well.
- Roll the dough into a ball, coat with very little oil and return to the bowl.
- Cover with cling film and leave in a warm place for the dough to rise.
- Transfer the risen dough to the work surface, which you have lightly sprinkled with flour, and knead the dough.
- Roll out the dough into a 1 cm thick rectangle.
- Spread 2/3 of the dough with ajvar, sprinkle with grated cheese and arrange the salami rings. (I coated two-thirds of the dough with ajvar and filled it with other ingredients, and cut the rest into strips 1 cm wide and braided three of them into a braid, which I transferred over the wrapped dough.)
- Wrap the dough in a circle and connect the ends.
- Take a round pan, a pan, line it with baking paper and transfer the prepared dough.
- Place a cup in the middle so that the dough does not stick during baking.
- Cover with transparent foil and let it rise for another 45 minutes.
- Coat the risen dough with egg yolk and bake in a preheated oven at 175°C for about 15 minutes, then increase the temperature to 200°C for another 40 to 50 minutes or until nicely browned.
