Snail cake.
Snail cake, ingredients:
- 200 ml of milk,
- 20 g of yeast,
- 1 teaspoon of sugar,
- 1 egg,
- 50 g of sour cream,
- half a teaspoon of salt and
- 450 g flour (I used wheat white "Vodenica kod dede Mija")
For the filling:
- 250 g of plum jam (today I tried Poplar Plum "Magium"). It is wonderful, packed in a 230 g jar
Snail cake, preparation:
- Put crushed yeast, a teaspoon of sugar and flour in warm milk.
- Leave for 10 minutes for the yeast to rise.
- After that time, add egg, sour cream, salt and knead the dough with flour.
- Allow the dough to rise for 30 minutes.
- Place the dough on a floured work surface and then roll it out with a rolling pin into a rectangle, about 0,5 cm thick. Spread the dough with plum jam and roll it up on the wider side. Cut the dough in the middle with a knife, then roll it into a snail shape. Transfer to a greased baking tray and leave to rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees until nicely browned.
- Sprinkle the roast with powdered sugar.
