Snails with yogurt, ingredients:
For the dough:
- 500 g of flour,
- 200 ml of milk,
- 5 g dry yeast,
- 2 spoons of sugar,
- 1 egg,
- 10 g of salt,
- 150 g of yogurt,
- 50 g of butter.
To coat the dough strips:
- 2 egg whites,
- 1 pinch of salt.
For mixing and sprinkling before baking:
- water if needed,
- if necessary, sesame
Snails with yogurt, preparation:
For the dough:
- Pour flour into a deep bowl, add dry yeast, salt and mix.
- Then, pour lukewarm milk, add sugar, egg, yogurt, softened butter (room temperature) and knead the dough.
- Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Knead the dough, cover with a clean kitchen towel and let it rest for an hour.
- Place the dough on a floured work surface, roll out with a rolling pin and cut into strips. Space the strips a little apart from each other. Leave to stand for 20 minutes.
- Beat the egg whites with a fork into a firm batter, add salt, mix, then coat the dough strips (with the help of a silicone brush).
- Lightly roll into a snail shape.
- Arrange in a tray lined with parchment paper.
- Cover them with water and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Leave to stand for 20 minutes.
- During this time, turn on the oven and preheat it to 220 degrees.
- Bake the snails at 180 degrees for 20 minutes.
- Remove the finished snails from the oven, cover them with a clean kitchen towel and let them cool.
- They will serve and serve.
Tip: any pastry mixed with yogurt is very soft and delicious, including these snails. Try it, enjoy!
