Recipe for Saturday lunch: green beans - green, yellow, colorful, round or flat... I like pickled green beans, but without vinegar. Nicely salted with the addition of dill and garlic.

It "pickles" in the sun for a couple of days. Now I didn't pickle it but stewed it. I "seasoned" it with dill sauce. Dill sauce is my favorite sauce and I often make it while the dill is young. Although, next to Cica žečica, I can't take my turn when it comes to dill.

You can mix the prepared green beans and the sauce or serve as I did - pour the fennel sauce over the green beans when serving.

Ingredients for stewed green beans:

  • 500 g of green beans
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1/s teaspoon of salt
  • a pinch of pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of oil

Ingredients for Dill Sauce:

  • 1 tablespoons of oil
  • 2 teaspoons of flour
  • 1 bunch of dill
  • 4 dl of milk
  • spices to taste: salt, pepper...

<strong>Preparation: </strong>

  • Chop the green beans, carrots and garlic, put them in a saucepan, add oil and simmer on a medium temperature for about 15 minutes while gradually adding water.
  • Green beans should be soft, but not overcooked, and the water should evaporate completely. (You can grate the carrots.)
  • Fry the flour and oil for the sauce.
  • Add the finely chopped dill and gradually pour in the milk.
  • Cook at a lower temperature.

When serving, you can add vinegar and finely chopped garlic to the fennel/green bean sauce.
