Baklava with walnuts and raisins (lean) - Danijela Žikić - Recipes and Cookbook online

Lenten baklava, the perfect treat for St. Nicholas.

Lenten baklava, ingredients:

  • 500 g of finished crusts
  • 400 g of ground walnuts
  • 150 g of raisins
  • 50 ml of oil
  • 700 g of sugar
  • 800 ml of water
  • 1 lemon
  • 3 bags of vanilla sugar

Lenten baklava, preparation:

  • Grease the pan with oil. Place 1 or 2 crusts (depending on the size of the pan) on the bottom of the greased pan to cover the bottom. Sprinkle 4-5 tablespoons of ground walnuts over the crust. Continue with layering the crusts (crumple two crusts at a time, as for gibanica). Sprinkle ground nuts and raisins. Stack the crusts until the material is used up. Finish the pie with the crust.
  • Cut the baklava into cubes.
  • Bake at 200 C for about 30 minutes.
  • Leave the baked baklava to cool.

Syrup:

  • Pour sugar, vanilla sugar and water into a bowl.
  • Wash the lemon, cut it into rings and add it to the bowl.
  • Put on a moderate temperature, to boil.
  • When it boils, boil the syrup for about 5-6 minutes.
  • Pour the hot syrup over the cooled baklava.
  • Leave to cool and absorb the syrup well.
  • Serve two cubes of baklava each and enjoy the taste!
