Reform cake recipe, is one of our favorite cake recipes. Irresistible chocolate filling and a large amount of walnuts contributed to the fact that reforma cake is a common choice for dessert.

On many sites on the Internet about Reform torta (or Reforma torta) you will find similar inscriptions in English: "This is a traditional Serbian recipe for a classic eggwhite-based ground almond torte sliced into three rounds and sandwiched with chocolate buttercream that's decorated with chopped almonds." (source http://www.celtnet.org.uk/)

So, according to various sources and stories, it is a traditional Serbian recipe with classic crusts, made of eggs and almonds (or walnuts), cut into 3 parts (3 crusts) and filled and coated with chocolate filling and decorated with chopped almonds (or walnuts) .

There are various legends (anecdotes and stories) that the name of this cake was created after the Second World War, when there was an era of reforms in the post-war country. According to the story, someone gave this cake the name Reform, because of the era of all kinds of reforms. The variations of this recipe are great. Practically, every family has some "own" recipe. And of course, legends are told about it: "You like Reforma cake, aha, but you haven't tried ours!". "And was it served on a rectangular tray?" She was not? Well, that's not Reforma cake!"
