Rolls with cheese - Valentina Milićević.

Rolls with cheese, ingredients:

  • flour, 1 kg
  • salt, 2 teaspoons
  • sugar, 1 spoon
  • oil, 100 ml
  • water, 600 ml
  • baking powder, 1
  • cheese, 500 g
  • margarine or butter, 100 g
  • egg, 1 whole
  • sesame seeds for sprinkling

Rolls with cheese, preparation:

  • Whip the dough from the above ingredients, then cover with a cloth and let the dough rise and double in size. It took me a little more than a kilogram of flour.
  • Divide the risen dough into two parts, knead each one a little and let it rest for another ten minutes.
  • Then, roll out each part with a rolling pin into a rectangle, then cover with half of the filling.
  • Roll the coated dough into a roll, on the wider side, and cut into pieces 2-3 fingers wide.
  • Do the same with the other half of the dough.
  • Arrange the cut rolls in a tray lined with baking paper, cover with a cloth and leave for about half an hour to rise.
  • Before baking, brush with beaten egg, sprinkle with sesame or other seeds and bake at 220*C for about 20 minutes.
  • Cover the baked rolls with a cloth and leave them in the tray for ten minutes.
  • Serve warm.

  • Mash the cheese with a fork and mix with softened butter.
  • If the cheese is not salty, add a little salt to the filling.
  • In case the cheese is hard, add a little cream to get a nice texture of the filling, which can be spread over the dough.
