Salcic.

Sauces, ingredients:

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 1 cup of oil
  • 500ml of white wine
  • 1 large or 2 small lemons
  • 500-600 g of ground, softened and whipped lard
  • about 1,3 kg of flour (as needed)
  • apricot jam about 200 gr.
  • powdered sugar
  • 4-5 vanilla sugar

Salčići, preparation:

  • Beat the egg yolks with a mixer, then add lemon juice, oil, and wine and knead a soft dough with flour.
  • Knead the dough well until bubbles start to appear.
  • I divide the dough into 2 equal parts like the fat. I roll out a thin crust and coat it with lard, sprinkle with flour and roll it into a roll that I slightly flatten with a rolling pin and roll out the dough lengthwise, put it on a tray, wrap it in transparent foil, and do the same with the other half of the dough and lard.

Leave it overnight for sure!!!

  • The next day, develop a crust about 1/2 cm thick, cut into squares with a hot, sharp knife (I cut 6,5×6,5 cm).
  • In the middle of each square, put half a teaspoon of apricot jam (can be jam of your choice). Fold them over and place them in the tray spaced apart so they have room to flip.
  • Heat the oven to 250 degrees, insert a tray and reduce the temperature to 190-200 degrees. They are baked longer, first they are peeled and when they are slightly browned, they are taken out.
  • Sprinkle the cold sauces with powdered sugar and vanilla sugar.
