Salčići with homemade lard - good old salčići (salčići)...
- 500 g of flour
- 3 pieces of yolk
- 300 g of fat (about 300 g)
- 1 dl of white wine
- 1 dl of sour water
- lemon peel (a little, grated)
- 4 spoons of sugar
- 0,25 teaspoons of salt
- apricot jam (if needed)
- powdered sugar (if needed)
- 2 sachets of vanilla
- Knead a smooth dough, not too hard, not too soft, from flour, 1 tablespoon of lard, egg yolks, sugar, salt, grated lemon peel, white wine and sour water. If necessary, add a little more flour or liquid. Roll out the well-mixed dough with a rolling pin and cover with a third of the lard.
- Fold the dough in the shape of a book and let it rest, covered, for about 15 minutes. Repeat the process two more times.
- After resting, roll out the dough with a rolling pin and cut it into rectangles or cubes. Put a teaspoon of jam on each part, fold, press the ends a little and arrange on a greased baking sheet.
Bake the salčić prepared in this way at 220 degrees for about 20 minutes.
- Roll the baked salčići in powdered sugar scented with vanilla.
