The Telegraph: Cheese for breakfast lowers cholesterol, claims the French doctor who created the chrono diet

"If you want to reduce cholesterol, you no longer have to stay away from fatty cheeses such as Brie and Camembert, and you can consume dried sausages, without fear of hardening of the arteries, according to the claims of Dr. Alain Delabos."

According to the analysis and conception of Dr. Delabo, cheese is a good medicine against cholesterol, but as long as you consume it at the right time. His concept, called chrononutrition, is based on the fact that every human being has functions that are biologically programmed to take place at a specific time.

Chrono nutrition is a concept that ensures that the right food is consumed at the right time.

According to this concept, fatty foods, including cheese, can be consumed as the first meal - breakfast - in the morning.

Heavier foods, such as steak, should be eaten four to six hours later, after breakfast.

Sweet food, it's English tea time - between 5 and 6 in the afternoon.

The evening meal should be relatively light and fat-free. Fish and seafood are recommended for this meal.

Dr. Delabo warns that lowering cholesterol shouldn't be done by reducing the amount of food you eat. Any lack of certain ingredients in the diet causes certain negative effects in your body. The doctor is also against consuming a large amount of fruits and vegetables, because they fill our body with mineral salts and retain too much water in the body.

His claims and the concept of chrono nutrition have been confirmed by clinical trials.

Cholesterol is needed by our body to create vitamin D, testosterone and other vital ingredients. "Bad" cholesterol, known as LDL, is associated with heart disease risks and high levels of dietary fat. On the other hand, a high level of HDL, or "good" cholesterol, is associated with a reduced risk of heart disease.

In addition to this type of diet, physical activity is also necessary for weight loss, which further reduces the level of "bad" cholesterol.
