Procedure:

  1. Place sliced onions and herbs of your choice in a small pot made of stainless steel or glass (not aluminum). Add enough honey to cover the onion (about 125 grams).
  2. Turn the stove on to low heat and let it come to a gentle boil. When the honey becomes liquid, reduce the heat even more so that the herbs release their medicinal ingredients into the honey as well as possible. Cover the pot so that all the medicinal properties of the herbs remain in the syrup, and remove the lid for a few minutes to quickly stir the syrup and prevent it from burning (although the fire should be low enough that this will certainly not happen).
  3. After 20 minutes of gentle boiling, remove the pot from the heat. Strain the onions and herbs, and put the rest of the honey (which may have traces of herbs in it, which is fine) into a small container with a lid and keep it in the refrigerator.

Take the syrup as often as needed, but not more often than every half hour. Dose: 1 teaspoon for children up to 10 years old, and 1 tablespoon for children over 10 years old and adults.
