Cooking school in the traditional way is something completely new and different in the gastronomic "heaven" of Serbia. This atypical cooking school is intended for (mainly) amateurs and was born out of the need to show all the splendor of Serbia's gastronomic culture to everyone, citizens of Serbia or foreign tourists, and to offer them a completely new experience through interactive workshops.

The lecturer is a professional chef and carving master Dejan Ilic, winner of many medals at international competitions.

The cooking school in the traditional way is organized at ethnic household in Topola with accommodation facilities in bungalows, which has a 4* categorization of rural ethnic accommodation, and the kitchen has a HACCP certificate. During the workshops and classes at the cooking school, you learn how to prepare traditional specialties, the recipes of which are more than 100 years old.

Who is the traditional cooking school for? Who are the attendees?

First of all, everyone who intends to come and visit us, must "bring" a good mood! That is the most important thing to us! It is much less important how much you know about cooking... If you are smiling, in a good mood, everything is easy. From my side and with the help of my team, which is at the service of all participants and guests at all times, we will ensure that all interested visitors, who are beginners in cooking, as well as all others, who have advanced knowledge in cooking, get to know food preparation in the traditional way.

Is any prior knowledge required for this course?

We have already held a couple of workshops and our guests were both women and men who cook every day, as well as individuals who told us: "I have never prepared anything in my life!". In the end, everyone participated equally in the preparation of the food, everyone was successful, and they left happy and richer for a completely different, unusual experience.

Do you have something special, something specific, that you show your students?

Of course, as a carving master, I do not miss the opportunity to show the guests and students of the school basic knowledge and skills in arranging and presenting food, with the basic elements of decorating vegetables and fruits. In the end, everyone gets excited with those simple elements.

Finally, how long is this course and what is the price?

We designed the basic concept to last 3 days, 4 hours a day. However, it is possible to define various variants of the duration of the course: from 1 day to 7 days. Everything depends on the group of participants and their wishes - we easily adapt to everything and make a suitable offer and agreement. The price of the arrangement for the basic concept of 3 days is €380 in dinars. The price of this, practically, trip includes: accommodation services on a full board basis, 3 days of cooking school, transfer by minibus Belgrade-Topola-Belgrade, guide services, travel organization.

If you are someone who is already an "experienced wolf" of cooking or someone who is a beginner, in any case, this offer will suit you. If your company wants to organize "team building", or the most ordinary trip outside the capital, besides the opportunity to learn to prepare old dishes of Serbian cuisine in the traditional way, you will have the opportunity to spend 3 days outside the city bustle, in the silence and peace of the surroundings of Topola, with the possibility to visit the mausoleum on Oplenac, the museum of Karađorđević, the church and museum of the First Serbian Uprising and Karađorđe, as well as many wineries in the vicinity of Topola and Arandjelovac.
