Savory strudel with ham and cheese Sandra Stojiljkovic Cvetkovic recipes and cookbook online

  • 1/2 kilo of flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 dl oil
  • 2 dl of milk
  • 20 grams of fresh yeast
  • 200 g of cheese
  • 100-150 g of ham
  • 2-3 tablespoons of sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 20 g margarine
  • if desired, sesame seeds - for sprinkling
  1. Stir the yeast in lukewarm milk with a teaspoon of sugar and let it rise. Pour flour into a bowl or mixing bowl, add 2 eggs, egg whites, salt, oil and added yeast. Knead the dough and leave it in a warm place to double in volume.
  2. In the meantime, make the filling: Crumble the cheese with a fork, add sour cream and finely chopped ham, then combine everything. Knead the risen dough, place it on a floured surface and roll out a rectangular crust.
  3. Spread the filling on the larger side of the rectangle, roll up the crust and divide it into two equal parts with a knife.
  4. Place the rolls in a greased tray, coat with egg yolk, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and spread margarine cut into smaller cubes on top. Bake for about half an hour in an oven heated to 200 degrees. Cool the baked strudel, then cut it into pieces of the desired thickness.
