Sweet cabbage with meat

An old recipe for sweet cabbage with meat, which is more than 100 years old.

For the old-fashioned recipe for sweet cabbage with meat, you need:

  • cabbage, two heads
  • pork meat, fattier, about 750 gr
  • cumin, one spoon
  • flour, one spoon
  • sour cream, one spoon
  • salt, to taste

<strong>Preparation: </strong>

  • take two medium and firm heads of cabbage and cut them into 4 - 6 large parts, sprinkle them with hot water and leave them to stand for half an hour
  • pork meat, slightly fattier, cut into pieces and put in salted water to cook
  • drain the cabbage from the water it was in and add it to the softened meat, add one spoonful of cumin and cook until the meat is completely soft
  • there should be only enough water to boil
  • pour one spoonful of flour and one spoonful of cream into a cup, mix and add the cabbage and meat and leave to simmer for another half hour

Remark: this kind of cabbage can also be made with mutton.
