Sweet from figs.

Fig candy, ingredients:

  • 1 kg of figs
  • 1 kg of sugar
  • 200 ml of water
  • 1 lemon

Sweet from figs, preparation:

  • Wash the figs well, cut their stalks and poke each one in several places with a toothpick.
  • Put them in a large pot, pour water and put them on the stove. When it boils, after two minutes, pour out the water, pour in cold water and repeat the procedure. Rinse the figs with cold water and remove them to a wire rack.
  • Cook a thick syrup from sugar and water. Drop the figs, one by one, and cook at a moderate temperature for about an hour. Do not stir, just shake the pan occasionally.
  • Towards the end of cooking, add a lemon cut into rings. The dessert is ready when you put a spoonful of syrup on the tray, make a line with the tip of the spoon, and the line remains.
  • Remove from the heat, skim off the foam and cover with a wet, clean cloth. Let it stand for 10-15 hours, to cool well at room temperature.
  • Put the clean and dry jars in the oven, turn it on at 100 C. After 30 minutes, remove the jars and let them cool completely. Pour the sweet and close well.
  • Enjoy the taste!

Sweet figs should be ripe and firm. I cook sweets from 2 kg of figs.
