Celebration cake.
Slavski cake, ingredients:
- 700 g of flour and a little more if necessary,
- 3,5 dl of lukewarm water,
- 1 bag of dry yeast or half a package of fresh yeast,
- 1 teaspoon of sugar,
- 1 teaspoon of salt and
- 1 dl of oil.
Celebration cake, preparation:
- Put lukewarm water in the mixing bowl, add sugar and yeast.
- Wait for the yeast to rise, then add oil, flour and salt and knead the dough so that it is neither soft nor hard.
- Take out the dough on a work surface sprinkled with flour and knead the dough a little more.
- Put the dough in the container in which you kneaded the dough and let it soak until it doubles in size.
- Take out the dough on the work surface and knead it and cut off a part of the dough for decorating the cake, and make a cake from the rest and put it in a pan greased with grease and sprinkled with flour or put it on parchment paper.
- Make two strips from the remaining dough and twist one around the other and put it around the dough.
- Take more dough and make one smaller and one larger strip and put a longer strip in the middle of the dough and a shorter strip over it.
- Make four more strips and decorate the cake.
- Make small balls from the rest of the dough and arrange them around the cake.
- Cover the dough and let it stand for about 20 minutes to rise again.
- Bake in an oven heated to 200 degrees for about 30 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 150 degrees and bake for another 15 minutes.
- Take the baked cake out of the pan, wash it with water and wrap it in a cloth and leave it to cool.
I bake the Slavski cake myself every year on the day of Glory.
