Celebration cake – a traditional dish, which must be prepared when there is a celebration. Put basil in the middle.

In our region, it is customary that, if the celebration falls on a Wednesday or Friday, the table is also fast.

We celebrate St. Đurđic, we also "get drunk" in the evening (and then the slavonic cake is cut). On both days of the celebration, as well as in the evening, meat cakes are made with which they are "plowed" - the household spins in a circle and breaks them. On the day of the celebration, it is important that it is before noon (before 12 o'clock), the host lights a candle, next to the candle it is obligatory to put grain and a glass of wine, the Our Father is read, the cake is cut (it is poured with wine in 4 places), it is placed on the table baking, cake, cakes, drinks, and this is all done earlier, until the day moves forward, so that the house will progress and for the health of the household.

And in the evening, the cake is cut, and the plowing is done. So, a total of 3 cakes and 3 celebratory cakes are baked, the day before the celebration, nothing is baked on the celebration.

We celebrate St. George's Day for one day, it is a "small" celebration. Then only the celebratory cake is kneaded, no scones are kneaded, and they don't even get drunk in the evenings.

Our customs are beautiful. Let's nurture tradition and keep our customs from being forgotten.
