Strudel with walnuts - a classic with a little chocolate 🙂

  • 300 g of soft flour type 400
  • 2 teaspoons of dry yeast
  • 100 ml milk
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 0,5 teaspoons of salt
  • 50 g of sugar
  • 60 g butter
  • 150 g of ground walnuts
  • 50 g of sugar
  • 75 ml milk
  • 1 bar of chocolate
  1. Sift the flour into a large bowl and mix it with the yeast. Add all other ingredients.
    Beat with a mixer with dough attachment at medium speed for 2-3 minutes.

    Cover the bowl with cling film and leave in a warm place for 60 minutes to double in size.

  2. Then transfer the dough to a floured work surface, roll it out in the shape of a rectangle whose longer side is equal to the length of the baking sheet.
    In the meantime, heat the oven to 190 degrees.
  3. For the filling, mix nuts and sugar and pour hot milk over them. Stir in the grated chocolate and some rum or cinnamon.
  4. Spread the developed dough with the filling and roll it into a strudel, then place it in a baking sheet lined with baking paper, seam side down.
    Cover the strudel and leave it for another 30 minutes.
    You can coat it with beaten egg yolk or bake it without coating for about 40 minutes.
  5. Remove the baked strudel from the pan, cool it well and cut it into slices.
    Serve it sprinkled with powdered sugar.
