Strudel with poppy seeds.

Strudel with poppy seeds, ingredients:

For the dough:

  • 300 g of flour
  • 1 spoon of dry yeast
  • 150 ml of lukewarm water
  • 100 g of sugar
  • on the tip of a knife of salt
  • 3 tablespoons of oil

For the filling:

  • 300 g of ground poppy seeds
  • 3 spoons of sugar
  • half a teaspoon of ground anise
  • 100 ml of hot water
  • 2 tablespoons of softened butter

Strudel with poppy seeds, preparation:

  • Add half of the flour to the mixing bowl, add yeast, sugar, salt, oil, lukewarm water, mix everything well and whisk, then gently mix in the remaining flour. Knead the dough well and let it rise.
  • While the dough rests, make the filling.
  • Put ground poppy sugar in a pan, then add hot water and mix, add butter and mix, add ground anise.
  • Divide the resulting dough into two equal balls.
  • Roll out each ball thinly and spread with the filling. Roll the strudels into a roll and wrap them around each other, then place them on parchment paper in a smaller square pan. Leave the strudels to rise for 30 minutes. Coat the strudels with water and bake for 40 minutes at 180 degrees.
