Strudel with poppy seeds.

Strudel with poppy seeds, ingredients:

  • 1 kg of flour
  • 1 glass of lukewarm milk, neither hot nor cold,
  • 1 glass of water
  • 250 g of fat
  • 1 egg
  • cube of yeast
  • 1 dl of warm milk
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1,5 teaspoon of sugar

Strudel with poppy seeds, preparation:

Poppy, walnuts, cherries, cinnamon, raisins, carob...

  • Soak a cube of yeast in a little warm milk with sugar and a little salt, and a spoon - two of flour, so that it is not too thick or too thin, so that it rises.
  • When it rises, pour it into a pan, mix it with flour, milk, water, add egg and fat, then knead the dough. The dough must not be very firm, but smooth and elastic, easy to knead and shape.
  • Divide the mixed mixture into 4 parts and roll out the crusts with a rolling pin. Fill each crust as you wish and choose: with poppy seeds, walnuts, carob, cherries, grated apples...
  • Sprinkle a little oil or melted fat over the dough, spread the filling and fold it into a strudel shape and place it in a baking tray.
  • Leave for about 30 minutes to grow a little more, and then bake in a heated oven, 30-40 minutes at 200 C
