Strudla with poppy seeds - Recipes and Cookbook online

Strudel with poppy seeds, a cake that reminds everything, everything, of childhood. And how good food used to be, as the popular song says.

Strudel:

  • 400 g of flour
  • 0,5 package of fresh yeast
  • 50 g of sugar
  • 1,5 dl of milk
  • 2 pieces of eggs
  • salt (little)
  • 80 g of margarine (melted)
  • 1 piece of lemon peel (grated)

File:

  • 200 g of ground poppy seeds
  • 1 bag of vanilla sugar
  • 100 g of sugar
  • 2 spoons of honey
  • 0,5 dl of milk
  • 50 g of raisins
  • 1 piece of lemon peel (grated)

Strudel

  1. Mix the yeast with sugar and five spoons of milk and let it rest in a warm place for about 15 minutes.
  2. Sift the flour, add all the ingredients and the whipped yeast, mix well to combine and knead. Let the dough rest for 50 minutes in a warm place. Cover the dish with a damp cloth or cling film.
  3. When the dough has risen, roll it out to a thickness of about 0,5 cm, roll it into a roll. Place in a greased tray and let it rest for another 10 minutes. Brush the rolls with beaten egg and bake for 40 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius.

  1. Mix all the ingredients for the filling so that they are even and pour hot milk. Stir again to even out. At the end, add raisins. Spread the filling over the strudel crust when it is completely cooled.
